I haven’t forgotten
about you! I’ve miss you, really- I have just been sooo busy. Between work, French class, homework, trying
to find a roomie, etc., etc., etc. I can barely keep up! Yesterday I went to New Jersey and didn’t see a computer screen
all day! I know, I know- I told you hereI never go to New Jersey-
but hey. This was for my job. Not that I
was forced- being out of the office to spend the day at the mall is not all
that bad J In the morning I
traveled out to Garden State Plaza- which I believe might be the largest mall I
have ever been to (and I have been to a lot of malls). It seemed to go on forever. And ever. And ever.
So… we were jewelry shopping, of course, and picked up some real beauties to
work on for our Spring 2013 line. Disclose our ideas? Bahahaha. I think not but
we have some good ones. Since I cant show you what we bought (because I would
have to kill you)- check out Beverly Semmes, an NY based artist who uses large
scale clothing to creates these unique installations. Her work has been shown all around the globe
and is in the permanent collections of one of my favorites: the Whitney. Anyways,
off to another long busy day. Hope you
have a good one.

a redneck weekend
“Rustre”. This is redneck in French. I’m not going to lie, I definitely have a
little red running through me (hey, I’m from the south…). Maybe that’s why I liked this editorial in Elle
France
so much. A little hair net, a lot of
makeup, a little too much snake skin- these are things us folks in New York may call
trashy. Elle France makes it classy. From the always reliable FGR.
The weekend forecast as of 9:56 AM:
Weekend agenda:
Sunday afternoon must consist of some quality time in front of the TV watching the best sporting event of the season: The Master's Tournament at Augusta National. Looks like y'all will have some lovely golfing weather!
Endless hours outdoors working on my base tan. Hey- you gotta start somewhere right? The reflection of the sun off my pale ass skin should penetrate soon enough.
Wa, wa, wa- yes, it is Easter weekend, but I have to find a roommate. Therefore this means making sure my apartment is in order and requires some casual entertaining- maybe some cookies could be enticing to potential renters- banana softies anyone?
Oh yeah. I get to leave work early today, woot, woot! Agnes and I are planning on doing some exploration around the city. My Time Out New York highlights some new spots that look interesting- ever heard of Earls Beer and Cheese?? Hummm- beer. cheese. Whats not to love?
Lay off the crafts. Overdosing never did anyone any good. Plus, I have to keep things interesting!

a night to remember
I am in
love. Seriously, this relationship has been going on for a while now and
Tuesday night took it to a whole new level. An out of this world, heart in my
throat, butterflies in my stomach obsessive compulsive type of love. After a fifth of vodka in Union Square (illegal you say? No- we had
cups J) Suzy and I made our way to Webster Hall- full on British
accents an all. I took a few pictures, but spent most of the time dancing my
ass off and singing at the top of my lungs…. Long story short, I am just now
starting to feel like myself again. If
you ever- I mean ever, have the opportunity- GO SEE SBTRKT! Listen to the video I posted a while back here.
Happy Thursday- One more day til the what's supposed to be a lovely weekend here in NYC!

diy: pastel hair extensions
Supplies:
Small scissors
6 ply
thread
Colored hair
with weft (I used real hair so it looked more natural)
Sewing
needle
Hair clips
(bought from a beauty supply shop)
To start: Cut and separate your
thread. The shorter the thread the easier I found this to be. Pull one
strand of thread apart from the bundle one piece at a time or it will get
tangled. I used 3 strands of thread
which seemed sufficiently secure.
Line up hair weft with the
holes on the hair clip (see above).
Thread needle through clip and weft leaving about 2” excess thread.
Bring thread back around again about
threading through about 4 times.
Knot thread twice (if you do
not know how to do this, you should not be doing this project) and bring
thread over to the other side of the clip and continue. Different hair widths may require different
amounts of clips- I did not use more that three on any one extension.
This is what the finished product should look like:
Continue until you cant take it
anyone and then install (watch below video with application process).
For best
results: Find a lovely awesome friend that is willing to model them for you (thanks
Aggie, you are the best! xxx) and show off all your hard work.
Have a happy day!
